Customer Texts for Painting Companies: Night Before, On the Way and Done
Painting customers have to do things before you arrive: clear small items off the walls, move what they can, put the dog somewhere, leave the lockbox code. The night-before text is where you remind them, and it is the single text that saves the most time on the job.
The Night-Before Text
Write it once: “Your painters start tomorrow at 8. Please clear small items off the walls and shelves in the rooms we are painting.” PaintingBossPro sends it the evening before each scheduled job. Customers choose which alerts they want in the customer app.
On the Way and Arrived
When the crew taps Start on the job before yours, the customer can get an on-the-way text. When the crew arrives, an arrived text. Customers stop calling the office to ask where the painters are.
Completed
When the job is complete, a completion text can go out with a link to the invoice and the before and after photos. That is also the moment to ask for a review; see Reviews and Tips for Painting Crews.
Estimate and Payment Follow-Ups
Two other texts matter as much as the job texts. Estimate follow-ups go out automatically when a customer has not answered, three of them, spaced out. Payment follow-ups remind customers about unpaid invoices so the office does not have to.
Keep Them Short
Texts are billed by length. Keep each one to a sentence or two and skip fancy characters. The templates in PaintingBossPro make that easy.
Two-Way Inbox
Customers reply. Replies land in the texting inbox with the whole conversation by customer, so anyone in the office can answer.
